Introductory exposure to Georgian culture, history, arts, and literature through the study of the Georgian language. The course teaches all four skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing. The instructor teaches the language in the context of Georgian folklore, poetry, literature, history, fine arts, and current geopolitical events. One third of the class is devoted to lectures, the remaining period includes discussions and ‘hands-on’ learning of the language and culture. This course is taught entirely in Russian.
