Polish Festival

Sunday, September 30, 2012 - 12:00pm to 6:00pm
Seattle Center Playhouse/Intiman Theatre, 201 Mercer Street, Seattle

Seattle’s Polish-American community will hold its inaugural festival at Seattle Center this fall. Polish Festival Seattle is created to celebrate Polish cultural traditions with wide audiences of the City of Seattle. For nearly a century, the vibrant Polish-American community of the Pacific Northwest has organized events at their cultural center in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. This year the community is proud to present their first ever Polish Festival at the Seattle Center (Playhouse/Intiman Theatre). The event is part of the Next50 celebrations.

The program offers free entertainment and performances by Polish groups, workshops related to Polish culture, art exhibits and children’s activities. Vendor booths include beautiful traditional folk costumes, Polish glass art, hand-crafted pottery decorated using exceptional stamping technique, crystal, jewelry and one of a kind cut-out art for sale. A unique exhibition of Polish film posters featuring great examples of Polish poster art will be accompanied by live jazz performance. The beer garden will be well stocked with a variety of imported Polish beer and food vendors will serve authentic delicious food. The first of this scale, Polish Festival invites all Seattleites to enjoy Polish heritage of the Pacific Northwest at the Seattle Center.
