Fishing for the Russians: Marine Resources Company 1978-1989

Tuesday, May 21, 2013 - 10:00am to Sunday, August 25, 2013 - 9:00pm
Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th Street, Seattle

During the last decades of the Cold War, American trawlers – including many from the Norwegian-American fishing community centered in Seattle – delivered huge quantities of bottom fish to Soviet processing vessels operating under the auspices of US-USSR Marine Resources Company (MRC) in U.S. waters off the coasts of Washington, Oregon, California, and Alaska. This exhibit presents a short history of this unique joint fishing venture. Museum Hours 10am - 4pm Tuesday-Saturday 12pm - 4pm Sunday
