Masha Kisel earned her PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Northwestern University. She has taught Russian literature, film and language at the University of Victoria, Lawrence University and currently teaches in the Department of English at the University of Dayton. Her talk, "The End of Bourgeois Emotion: 'Animal Selves' in Mikhail Zoshchenko's Sentimental Tales" will investigate intersections between literature and psychology in early Soviet culture.
