"American Dream: In Search of the Truth"

Join us on October 15 at 3pm in UW Communications Building, room 120, for the screening of the 2017 documentary film "American Dream: In Search of the Truth," directed by Volodymyr Mula. This film presents the stories of eight Ukrainians who left their homeland and moved to the United States in pursuit of success. The film follows a journey in the cab of a truck with a Ukrainian long haul trucker across eleven US states, in search of successful and famous compatriots. The film features the stories of singer Mika Newton, Hollywood actress Tetyana Rodyna, Major League Soccer champion Dmytro Kovalenko, medical doctor Yuriy Melnyk, Twitter programmer Arsen Kostenko, inventor Vadym Chalenko, Columbia University lecturer Yuriy Shevchuk, and sports lawyer Elena Jirnova. In Ukrainian and Russian with English subtitles. 

Suggested donation for admission is $ 15. All proceeds from the show will go towards production of a new film about Ukrainian emigration, and the costs associated with screenings.
