The Romanian Ambassador to the US, George Maior, will deliver a talk on "Security Challenges and Opportunities for NATO, Romania and the US in Eastern Europe" on November 9, at the University of Washington, HUB 332, 6 PM. Mr. George Maior is both a diplomat and a scholar, with great expertise in security and intelligence, International Law and Political Sciences. His books, articles, and talks at prestigious universities reflect on the turbulent contemporary world and its defense policies. After the talk, the Romanian Ambassador will present Professor James Augerot, former Director of Russian Eastern European and Central Asian Studies Program with the "Romanian American Heritage Lifetime Recognition Award" for his constant support and contribution to Romanian Studies in the US. Professor Augerot is a board member in the Seattle non-profit ARCS - American Romanian Cultural Society - and great supporter of the Romanian Film Festival and education programs since 2013. A reception will follow the talk.
