Award-winning Russian to English literary translator Marian Schwartz talks about translating realia in her new translation of Leonid Yuzefovich’s Horsemen of the Sands and will lead a discussion of translation scholarship, university-level translator training and careers in literary translation. Schwartz is a prolific translator of Russian classic and contemporary fiction, history, biography and criticism. She is the past president of the American Literary Translators Association, has won two translation fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and is the recipient of numerous translation prizes. https://www.marianschwartz.com/
