On June 28, 2013, Advisory Board member  Wayne Jehlik, founder and director of the Czech Center for Education and Culture, was installed as an Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic.  The occasion marked the opening of the twentieth Honorary Consulate in the United States in the city of Seattle, Washington.

The consulate was inaugurated during a ceremony attended by many distinguished guests, including the Deputy Minister of Environment Mr. Tomáš Tesař, Czech Ambassador to the United States Petr Gandalovic, and Darryl Smith, Deputy Mayor of Seattle.

Consular jurisdiction of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Seattle covers the entire State of Washington. Besides offering help to Czech tourists and notarizing documents to be used in the Czech Republic, the consulate should open up avenues for more active cultural, scholar and economic exchange between the Czech Republic and the State of Washington, promote tourism, and engage in compatriot relations.
