Slavic Department alum, Bud Bard, was awarded the Imperial Decoration "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays" on November 14, 2019 by Yoichiro Yamada, Consul General of Japan in Seattle. Japan's third highest order, this honor recognizes people who have made important contributions to the field of international relations and promoted Japanese culture around the world. Congratulations Bud!
