Sasha Orlova continues to build an impressive record of teaching, research, and academic achievement. In Winter 2026, she taught RUSS 200, “The Art of Protest,” in the Department of World Languages & Cultures at Central Washington University and was invited to teach the course again during the next academic year, along with first-year Russian. This summer, she is teaching RUSS 150: Summer Intensive Russian, which has attracted strong student enrollment this year.
In April 2026, Orlova presented her paper, “Permanent Temporariness as a Condition of Post-2022 Russian Emigration,” at the REECAS Conference. She was also accepted to present at the ASEEES Conference in November 2026 with a paper titled “From Sharik to Sharikov: Imitating Humanity in Bulgakov and AI.”
In recognition of her language studies, she received the Outstanding Student of Polish Language Award.
