José Alaniz's essay in Cultures of Representation: Disability in World Cinema Contexts

Professor José Alaniz's essay, "Autism Function in 'Anton's Right Here,' is included in the recently published collection, Cultures of Representation: Disability in World Cinema Contexts, published March 2016 by Wallflower Press.  The essay examines "Anton's Right Here," a 2012 documentary by St. Petersburg director Lyubov Arkus, in light of recent scholarship on neurodiversity. Alaniz included "Anton's Right Here" in the syllabus of his RUSS 423 course "Disability in Russian Cinema" in Fall, 2014. Alaniz also serves as director of the UW Disability Studies program.
