Since 1979, the University of Washington – University of Ljubljana Exchange has supported many productive collaborations involving faculty from various disciplines – including Arts and Sciences, the Built Environments, Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing, and Social Work – and now it could be your turn! Applications to visit the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) during the 2020 calendar year are now being accepted, and the UW – UL Exchange Committee encourages UW faculty, other academic personnel, and senior graduate students (Ph.D. candidates) from any UW campus, college, school, or academic program to apply!
During their 2-4 week visit, participants will give lectures, interact with Slovene students, and collaborate with Slovene faculty colleagues in their field of specialization. No knowledge of Slovene language is required; and no direct, immediate exchange reciprocity in the participant’s field of research is expected.
Thanks to the support of the Roma Boniecka-Anna Cienciala Endowment for Slovene Studies, the UW – UL Exchange Committee is able to cover up to $1,200 of participants’ travel costs. Lodging and a modest per diem will also be provided by the University of Ljubljana.
Applications are due by 5pm on Monday, December 9, 2019. For more information about the program and how to apply, please see the UW – University of Ljubljana Scholars Exchange page. Questions can be addressed to the Chair of the UW – UL Exchange Committee, Michael Biggins.
