Affiliate professor Michael Biggins was elected as a corresponding (foreign) member of the Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences this spring and formally inducted into the Academy at a ceremony on June 27, 2023, in Ljubljana. Each year the Academy nominates and elects new members in its six broad disciplinary divisions on the basis of exceptional lifelong achievement.
Also this summer, the University of Ljubljana announced it will award Biggins the status of Honorary Senator of the University at a ceremony scheduled for December 2023. The title is awarded to non-Slovenes who have made major contributions toward connecting the University with academic institutions around the world.
